Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Oh My God 2’ is inching closer to its release. He recently arranged a special preview of his upcoming movie 'Oh My God 2' for spiritual leader Sadhguru at the Isha Yoga Center in Coimbatore. Interestingly, Sadhguru seemed impressed by 'OMG 2' and he even praised the film saying that it was important to "educate young people on how to handle their bodily needs."

In another tweet on Tuesday, August 8, the spiritual leader claimed that the film shouldn't have gotten an 'A' certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The Amit Rai-directorial is scheduled to release on August 11.

For those unaware, 'Oh My God 2' features Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi and the film landed in controversy for Akki’s portrayal of Lord Shiva. It was recently confirmed that 'OMG 2' has received an ‘A – Adults Only’ certificate from the censor board. 


Interestingly, this is Akshay Kumar’s first film in 12 years to get an adults-only certificate.

Sadhguru shared his review after watching the film, and wrote, "'A’ Certificate in this case should include Adolescents. That’s where it matters most. Education about understanding human biology and responding to the biological needs of an individual in a dignified and responsible way is very needed to build a Nation that is Fair & Just to all involved. -Sg #OMG2 (sic)."

Akshay Kumar reacted to Sadhguru's tweet saying, "Thank you so much @SadhguruJV. Hope the message reaches far and wide, in the right spirit (sic)."


Directed by Amit Rai OMG 2, Amit Rai, features Akshay Kumar in the avatar of Lord Shiva. The film also features Yami Gautam, Pankaj Tripathi and Arun Govil of Ramayan fame. The film will be released on August 11.  

For those unaware, the satirical comedy-drama is a sequel to the 2012 hit film 'OMG- Oh My God!' The film is produced by Cape of Good Films, Ashwin Varde, Vipul D Shah and Rajesh Bahl.
